Our Story
Natural, eco-friendly, optimistic, positive — brand philosophy
Why a raincoat?
No one would refuse to see a more beautiful version of themselves, and rainy days are no exception.
The damp temperatures and dirty rain hit us, and the bleak surroundings make us feel just as gloomy as the weather.
In Europe, a region where rainy weather prevails throughout the year, traveling comfortably has become a real challenge.
Even so, people’s choice of raincoats has always been very demanding.
From rubber materials to waxed fabrics, and later to gabardine, nylon, and even plastics, people’s expectations of raincoats have evolved—from simple waterproof functionality to a pursuit of fashion, beauty, and comfort.
A rain jacket is just a rain jacket?
That may sound extremely simple, but it isn’t true.
Behind every successful creation, there is almost always a fascinating story. From an idea comes a product; from motivation and know-how grows a premium brand.
At DINGY WEATHER, we have been ensuring for over 25 years that water simply beads off our customers.
More than that, we share a profound belief:
The art of living is dancing in the rain instead of waiting for the sun.
Dancing in the rain? DINGY WEATHER provides at least three very good reasons:
our sustainable production,
colorful design,
combined with maximum functionality.
Sustainability plays an increasingly important role. Our state-of-the-art production technology can truly be described as exemplary. Through a proven yet complex recycling process, we use materials such as PET bottles and plastic bags to produce our waterproof fabrics. In turn, our textile fibers can be almost completely recycled. We are especially proud of this outstanding, environmentally friendly circular system.
Sustainability aside and functionality considered, our focus naturally also lies on an appealing look. You and we want to look good even in gray rain—and that is exactly what we work on together with a top German designer. She has lived and worked in Italy for many years, and her cuts and attention to detail make our jackets unmistakable.
When it comes to functionality, we at DINGY WEATHER set further benchmarks. Staying dry in bad weather while wearing our clothing goes without saying. But it’s not only in Hamburg, where our company is based, that people appreciate staying pleasantly warm in cold, wet conditions. For this reason, many of our models are lined with soft fur. Important to note: no rabbit had to die for this. We use faux fur to create that famous feel-good effect.
But enough words: describing DINGY WEATHER is one thing—experiencing DINGY WEATHER is truly unique.
With that in mind, our team wishes you a great time, completely independent of wind and weather forecasts!
